Because We Love Children

Karona Drummond’s Home Page

Hi! My name is Karona (pronounced Karana) Drummond. My name comes from Scott O’Dell’s award-winning children’s chapter book, Island of the Blue Dolphins.

Maybe Mom and Dad had an inkling of future loves: children and children’s books. I have taught young children for over 20 years. When I am not teaching in the classroom, I am teaching my own kids. We homeschool part-time. My blog is dedicated to the love of children, and helping them grow and develop in a nurturing environment.

I am also a children’s author. I have one picture book published. It is a love poem for parents to read to their children, telling their kids of the joyous changes their presence brings. The name of the book is Along Came You.

Along Came You is beautifully illustrated by English artist, Estelle Corke. you can find out more about the book at

I hope you will drop by to read my blog from time to time. I look forward to your comments and sharing ideas with you.
