Because We Love Children

Thanks for the Day

on September 12, 2012

Today a dear friend of mine is saying goodbye to a dear friend of hers. For the last time on this earth. Cancer is taking this
precious wife and mother way before anyone was ready. I barely know her, and yet she has been on my mind and in my thoughts and in my prayers constantly.

This lady has received many blessings in this tragedy. She has had a few weeks to record her memories and hopes for her children. She has been able to say goodbye to family and friends. She has picked out her hymns and written her memorial service. Members of her church have engulfed the whole family in love and support.

Our mutual friend is amazing. I am so honored to call her my friend. She has been at her friend’s house night and day. She and her husband have been there in the darkest hours. As her friend became bedridden, this wonderful lady has been there to bathe and change her friend. She helped set the family finances in order. She taught the teenage daughter how to go shopping.

My heart is breaking for all these people today. I am praying for a peaceful passing and for comfort for all the family and friends.

As I look at my crazy/busy life, I give thanks for the day. I don’t know how long I will be allowed to be on this earth. But I will make time today for what really matters to me: my faith in God, my family, and my friends. I hope you will do the same.
